Pretty decent deal for Kovi from a Devils perspective. Oduya hurts somewhat, I can see NJ shopping for a defenseman at the deadline, and Bergfors is a solid player, but certainly no gamebreaker like Kovi. Cormier is a meh, if he does make it it will be as an agitator, a dime a dozen player and even that is not garunteed. The first is a 25-30 pick, not worth that much. This return is scarily similar to the Hossa return, look how that worked out for Atlanta. But didn't really work for Pittsburgh did it tho? NJ is going for it all thats for sure.

Looks like Lou is making some moves reminiscent of 2000 (Mogilny). With everyone back healthy, this team is gonna be dangerous. We win a lot of games by barely scoring goals, imagine what's gonna happen if we start scoring/averaging 3-4 a game with Marty averaging only a little over 2 against.

Awesome. Who the fuck for who the fuck cares. At least nobody lost out on this one. Tollefson could hardly even crack the lineup in Philly. Maybe he'll be more useful to the Wings.

San Jose has acquired D Niclas Wallin and a 2010 5th-round pick from Carolina, in exchange for a second-round pick in June.

That's a good trade for Carolina. Wallin won't do them any good sitting on the couch during the playoffs, so they essentially traded up a pick and dumped some salary. Also good for San Jose to have some extra depth on the blue line as they gear up for the post season.

I like this trade, although i would like to see more added to the blueline. We need another Dman who can score. Hopefully we can move Huskins and a forward for Kaberle or something. SJ and Chi are interested in Wisniewski also, but we need another puck mover

Thrashers have traded Kari Lehtonen to the Dallas Stars for prospect Ivan Vishnevskiy and a fourth round draft pick.

Wow. Turco is on his way out? Vishnevsky is a good prospect, but Atlanta already has a logjam at defense. Lehtonen value has plumetted, too bad cause the guy has all the talent. If he could stay healthy he can be elite. Could go either way on this one, depends on whether Vishnevsky pans out or Lehtonen stays healthy.

I just heard about this during the Stars broadcast tonight....good game by the way. Should have got the win, but we'll take a point out of Chi town. But it's a pretty nice trade if you ask me. Vishvnosky will be good down the road. But Auld and Turco will be free agents at the end of the year. Lehtonen will be involved next year for sure.

Turco reminds me a little of David Aebischer's first two seasons as a starter for the Avs after Roy retired. It started off so well, but down the road, he got so bad that we all demanded an upgrade, but instead, we got someone else's problem (in this case...injured).

I hope Dallas can sort out this smoking rubble that is their D corps and goaltending, because they've been one of the premiere teams in the league for quite a while before this recent downhill slide, and they need to get their ship righted.

great deal for ottawa picard gives up the puck more then anyone in the league, but now were down to 4 d with campoli out 4-6 weeks and Karlsson also hurt, we called up lee so murray must be planning something else
